Hints, not answers

Lola asks guiding questions and checks every answer with a math engine (SymPy), not a guess. Full solutions unlock only after a real attempt and two hints.

Lola Math on a phone: Lola answers a geometry question with a hint about the horizontal and vertical changes between two points

See Lola for students

A quick tour of the student side (with Lola's voice): practice by unit with hints, not answers; hear Lola out loud; your home screen progress; and how your teacher can support you.

Lola's voice is AI-generated (the same voice students hear in the app). Demo screens; no real student data.

📷 Photo

Snap it

Take a photo of a problem or your written work, straight from your phone camera. Lola finds the first slip and gives a hint, not the answer.

✏️ Drawing pad

Sketch it

Draw an equation, a graph or a diagram with your finger or a stylus, add a note if you like, and send it to Lola.

🎤 Voice

Say it

Hold the mic and ask out loud. Lola answers in a soft, friendly voice, and you can mute her any time.

Your home screen

What students get

Your teacher's next assignment, your streak, course mastery, the days to your exam and your practice exam results, all on one screen. Then chat with Lola, practice by unit, or take a timed practice exam.

Regents-style and AP-style exams

Timed practice exams with a score report by part, unit and standard. Written work is reviewed point by point.

🗓️

A study plan to exam day

Weeks to the Regents or AP exam, weighted by the exam blueprint and by each student's own results.

💛

Confidence check-ins

Short mathematical-resilience check-ins, so teachers can see confidence and persistence grow, not just scores.

💬

Message your teacher

Reach your teacher from Messages in the student portal when you need help — and they can reach you too.

You and your teacher

Your teacher is on your team

Your teacher can see how you're doing in Lola — practice by unit, assignments and check-ins — so they can offer support when you need it. When you're stuck, open Messages in your student portal and reach them directly. It's a supportive line to your teacher, not a watchful eye: there's no student-to-student chat, and Lola's hints still come first.

  • They see your Lola progress so help can arrive before a quiz or exam, not after.
  • You can message your teacher from the student portal when you need a hand.
  • They can message you too if they notice something in your practice worth checking in on.

One tutor for the whole NYC math pathway

Each class is set to a course by its teacher, so students always practice the right content. Every question is tagged with its NYS standard code (or AP CED topic).

Grade 9 · Regents

Algebra I

7 units, from linear equations to quadratics, exponential models and statistics. Regents-style practice exams in the Next Generation format.

Grades 9–10 · Regents

Geometry

Transformations, congruence and proof, similarity, right-triangle trig, coordinate geometry, circles and modeling.

Grades 10–11 · Regents

Algebra II

Complex numbers, polynomials, equations and systems, functions, exponential and log models, trig functions, statistics and probability.

Grades 11–12

Pre-Calculus

Functions and symmetry, rational functions, exponential and log functions and trigonometry, built on NYSED's Plus (+) standards pathway.

Grades 11–12 · AP

AP Calculus AB

All 8 CED units, AP-style practice exams in the May 2027 format (42 MCQ + 6 FRQ) with FRQ rubrics and a clearly labeled score estimate.

Also for community college students

Lola also supports community college students in developmental (remedial) and corequisite math: the support section that many community colleges now pair with a credit-bearing math course in the same semester. A professor creates a class for the track, shares a join code, and students practice the algebra their credit course depends on, with the same hints-not-answers tutor. How Lola fits around work, family and classes →

11 units

Fractions, percents and signed numbers; linear equations, inequalities and word problems; graphing lines and systems; exponents, polynomials and factoring; quadratic equations, rational expressions and radicals; functions; quantitative reasoning and statistics.

Elementary algebra practice tests

25 multiple-choice questions, 100 minutes, no calculator. Practice aligned with community college developmental/corequisite math, with original questions; it is not an official exam and no placement or pass mark is claimed.

Written for adult learners

Lola talks to college students as adults: respectful and confidence-building, with hints instead of answers, every answer checked by a math engine (SymPy), and all math in proper notation. Professors get the same heatmap, Activity and CSV export as teachers.

Exam practice that matches the real format

Regents-style (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II)

Follows the Next Generation Regents format in NYSED's Educator Guides: Part I 24 multiple-choice questions, Parts II–IV constructed response worth 2, 4 and 6 credits, 3 hours, graphing calculator. All questions are original, not NYSED items. Results show an estimated performance level (placeholder bands; NYSED publishes the official conversion chart for each exam).

AP-style (AP Calculus AB)

Follows the format that starts in May 2027: Section I 42 multiple-choice (29 without calculator, 13 with), Section II 6 free-response (2 with calculator, 4 without). FRQs are scored point by point against a rubric; the AP score shown is an estimate, not a prediction. The 2027 exam is scheduled for Mon 10 May 2027.
